QUICSEAL 601 – Tilebond Flex
Description: QUICSEAL 601 Tilebond Flex is a grey or white powder adhesive composed of cement, graded fine sand, synthetic resins, and specially formulated additives. It is designed to be mixed with water as a thin-set tile adhesive with excellent adhesion strength. When cured, QUICSEAL 601 is water-resistant and exhibits excellent thixotropic and shrinkage control properties.
Classification: EN 12004: C2TE
Typical Uses: QUICSEAL 601 is suitable for bonding ceramic tiles, quarry tiles, klinker, mosaics, natural stones, etc., on both wall and floor surfaces, both internal and external areas, and on conventional cement-sand screeds and renders. It can also be used on gypsum board, plywood that is firmly fixed, and existing tiled surfaces.
Limitations: Do not use QUICSEAL 601 to bond tiles on walls subjected to extreme flexing and vibration (such as very thin plywood and gypsum board walls). For such applications, use QUICSEAL 605 MULTIPURPOSE PASTE or QUICSEAL 606 TILEFLEX.
- Do not use on metal surfaces or bond moisture-sensitive stones. Use QUICSEAL 612 TILEPOXY.
Substrate Preparation:
- Substrates must be leveled, clean, and sound, free of dust and loose particles.
- Remove laitance, oil, grease, mold release agents, or curing compounds from concrete surfaces.
- Extremely porous and powdery substrates should be treated with QUICSEAL 113 PRIMER C before laying tiles with QUICSEAL 601 adhesive.
- Allow screeds and renders to cure for at least 7 days. Surfaces heated from exposure to direct sunlight should be dampened with water to prevent premature curing.
Mixing Instructions:
- Mix 25 kg of QUICSEAL 601 with approximately 5.5 – 5.7 liters of water until a homogenous and lump-free paste is obtained.
- Allow the mix to stand for 5 minutes and re-stir before use.
Technical Data:

Adhesion Strength (EN 12004 Standard):
- After 28 days air cure: ≥ 1.0 N/mm² (Test Results: Passed)
- After water immersion: ≥ 1.0 N/mm² (Test Results: Passed)
- After heat ageing: ≥ 1.0 N/mm² (Test Results: Passed)
Slip Test:
- ≤ 0.5mm (Test Results: Passed)
Extended Open Time (after 30 minutes):
- ≥ 0.5 N/mm² (Test Results: Passed)
Application:
- Apply a thin coat of QUICSEAL 601 adhesive onto the substrate using the straight edge of the trowel.
- Follow immediately with the appropriate amount of adhesive with the notch side to achieve the required thickness.
- Use the correct notched trowel size based on the type and size of the tiles.
- For large-sized tiles and tiles with lugs and grooves, apply a coat of QUICSEAL 601 adhesive to the back of the tiles.
- Adjust tiles within 15 minutes after laying and protect them from adverse weather conditions.
- For thin bed installations, tile joints can be grouted usually 6 to 8 hours after laying the tiles.
- For thick bed installations, tile joints can be grouted approximately 24 hours after laying the tiles, depending on absorbency.
Cleaning: Clean tools and hands with abundant water before the adhesive sets. After setting, cleaning becomes very difficult but can usually be helped by mechanical means.
Coverage: Approximately 1.6 kg per m² per 1 mm thick. Coverage is determined by the condition of the substrate.
Packing: QUICSEAL 601 is supplied in 25 kg bags.
Storage: 12 months in a dry place in the original packaging.
