Substrate Quality/Pre-Treatment

• Ensure that the surface is clean, dry, and free from dust, oil, and paint.
• For new concrete, allow it to dry for 3 to 7 days, depending on climate conditions before application.
• Remove any seams or edges that exceed the required thickness.
• If the substrate has many pores, apply the first coat to fill them, making subsequent layers easier and quicker.
• Dampen the substrate before application.

Mixing

• Mix 20 kg of SikaWall-140 Skim Coat White KH with 7 – 7.5 liters of water until the product is evenly distributed.
• Small quantities can be mixed with a paddle for at least 3 minutes, while larger quantities benefit from a machine operating at 500 rpm.
• Allow the mixture to stand for 1 – 3 minutes, and do not add water after mixing.

Application

• Apply the first coat of the mixed product with a trowel. It’s recommended to apply a minimum of 2 coats: the first to level the substrate and the second to finish. Additional coats can be applied as needed to reach the desired thickness or texture.
• If there are too many pores on the substrate, apply the first coat to fill them first, making the application of subsequent layers easier and quicker.
• Allow each coat to dry sufficiently for 10 – 45 minutes.
• For a polished finish, you can use sandpaper no. 380 on the surface.
• Allow 3 – 7 days before applying covering material.
