SUBSTRATE QUALITY / PRE-TREATMENT

• Start with a clean, sound, level, and uncontaminated concrete surface. Remove any oil, grease, cement laitance, formwork traces, and loosely adhering particles by sand blasting or high-pressure water jetting.
• For absorbent substrates, pre-wet them to a saturated surface dry condition.

MIXING

• Add SikaCeram-88 Tile Adhesive KH powder to approximately 4.5 – 5 liters of clean water.
• Mix thoroughly using a handheld or mechanical mixer for 3-5 minutes until you achieve a homogeneous, lump-free paste.
• Allow the mix to stand for 1-2 minutes and then re-mix thoroughly for another 1 minute before using.

APPLICATION

• Use a notched trowel for application onto the substrate and buttering onto the back-face of the tile to enhance the performance and proper coverage of the adhesive.
• Tiles with deep grooves should be adequately buttered, ensuring proper coverage in the inner grooves of the tiles.
• Firmly press the tiles onto the substrate and immediately tamp them into position. Any adjustments to the tile position should be made within 20 minutes after application.
• Ensure that the tiles and tile adhesive are in proper contact with the substrate.

CLEANING OF EQUIPMENT
