VINLASTIC – Flexible Polymer Modified Cementitious Waterproofing Coating
Description:
VINLASTIC is a two-part waterproofing system based on high-quality synthetic resin, cement, and special additives. It exhibits excellent bonding properties with various substrates.
Application Area:
- Waterproofing for basements, water tanks, aqueducts, siphons, or any water-retaining structures.
- Waterproofing for concrete structures such as roofs, balconies, bridges, and pitch holes.
- Suitable for bathroom floors, sunken portions, kitchen sinks, and walls.
Advantages:
- Excellent bonding to a variety of substrates, including concrete, plastic, and metal.
- Adheres well to wet surfaces, facilitating easy and rapid application.
- Very flexible, capable of withstanding moderate movements, including hairline cracks up to 0.2 mm width.
- Non-toxic when used for waterproofing running water tanks.
Consumption:
- Recommended consumption: 0.8 ÷ 1.2 kg/m2/coat
- Number of coats recommended: 2 ÷ 3 coats
Application:
Surface Preparation:
- Remove loose and deteriorated materials using high-pressure water or sand-blasting or mechanical wire brushing.
- Treat, neutralize, and remove efflorescence, mold, mildew, dust, dirt, laitance, and standing water before coating application.
- Fill chiseled traces with mortar (cement/sand: 1/2) using HYPERLATEX™ bonding agent.
- Saturate the prepared substrate with clean water before applying VINLASTIC®.
Mixing:
- Mix using a slow-speed drill (600 rpm) with a wing-type paddle for approximately 3-4 minutes until components are evenly blended to a uniform lump-free consistency.
Coating:
- Apply VINLASTIC® with a brush, roller, or airless spraying machine in at least 2 coats on the substrate surface.
- Apply VINLASTIC® to corners, joints, and construction joints before covering the entire surface.
- Apply the first coat when the surface is still wet.
- Apply the second coat at right angles to the first coat immediately after the first coat dries.
- VINLASTIC® should be applied within 90 minutes from mixing.
