LEAFSEAL WP 610 | LIQUID-APPLIED MOISTURE CURED POLYURETHANE WATERPROOF MEMBRANE
Product Overview
Description: LeafSeal WP610 is a single-component, coal tar-free polyurethane waterproofing membrane designed for both vertical and horizontal surfaces. It forms an extremely elastic and tough waterproof membrane by reacting with moisture in the air. WP610 can be brush-applied directly from the pail or sprayed, providing an economical and labor-saving solution.
Features and Benefits
Features:
- Economical and Labor-Saving:
- Cost-effective and reduces construction time.
- Easy to apply, even in complex areas.
- Resistant to Bacterial Growth:
- Provides resistance to bacterial growth.
- Versatile Application:
- Suitable for roofs, terraces, landscape slopes, underground water tanks, balconies, corridors, swimming pool areas, flower tubs, and more.
Benefits:
- Easy Construction:
- Simplifies construction, including in challenging shapes.
- Versatile application on various surfaces.
- Self-Priming:
- Self-priming on most surfaces.
- Porous substrates may require priming with UP100 primer.
Application Range
- Roofs, terraces, and landscapes with slopes in the structure.
- Exterior of underground water tanks.
- Balconies, corridors.
- Swimming pool areas, flower tubs.
Substrate Preparation
- Ensure the construction surface is clean, solid, and free of dirt.
- The surface must be smooth, free of pores, without protrusions or defects.
- Remove any cement milk by scraping or with a chopper until a solid concrete layer is exposed.
Priming
LeafSeal WP610 is self-priming on most surfaces. However, porous substrates like aerated concrete should be primed with UP100 primer.
Application
- Apply with a brush or nap roller to obtain a continuous, unbroken film.
- Two coats are recommended for optimal performance.
- At 24°C, 55% relative humidity, and with a WFT of 0.5 – 0.6mm per coat, apply two coats at about 0.6-0.9mm DFT.
- Protect LeafSeal WP610 from mechanical damage during subsequent backfilling work.
Undertile Waterproofing
- Lay a protective unbonded/floating screed over LeafSeal WP610.
- Fix tiles onto the screed using a suitable tile adhesive.
- When working on large decks in stages, protect the surface with suitable canvas or boards when finished.
Planter Box and Swimming Pools
- For these locations, apply three layers of sand to increase adhesion to the protective mortar.
Roof Area
- Pour a concrete layer with grade 200, 5cm to 7cm thick for protection.
Coverage
The recommended coverage is approximately 1.2 to 1.4 kg per m² for two coats. Coverage depends on the application method and the surface texture and porosity.
Drying Time
Allow the first coat to be touch dry before applying the second coat. Drying time may vary based on humidity and temperature.
Cleaning
Clean tools and equipment immediately with solvent. Remove cured material with mineral turpentine or white spirits.
Shelf Life and Storage
Store in dry conditions (5°C – 35°C) away from sunlight. Replace the lid tightly after use. LeafSeal WP610 has a storage life of 12 months in the original unopened containers.
Packaging
25kg (20L) pail
Safety Data
LeafSeal WP610 contains aromatic hydrocarbons. It may cause skin irritation to sensitive individuals after prolonged contact. Protective gloves are required during application. Use in well-ventilated areas. In case of contact with eyes or skin, rinse with plenty of water. Seek medical advice if irritation occurs.
