CONSTRUCTION INSTRUCTIONS

Substrate Preparation:

• Ensure the substrate is in sound condition, level, and free from any dirt, dust, oil, or contaminants. A clean surface is crucial for proper adhesion.
• Examine the substrate for any unsound areas or defects. Repair these areas using Weberep repair mortar. Make sure the repaired sections are fully cured at a rate of 7 days per 1 cm thickness before applying Weberdry 1K Flexshield.
• Dampen the substrate surface with clean water until it reaches its saturation point. This ensures that the substrate will not absorb excess moisture from the Weberdry 1K Flexshield mixture too quickly.

Mixing:

• In a clean container, mix Weberdry 1K Flexshield with clean water in the recommended ratio. The mixing ratio can vary between 3.5:1.0 to 6.5:2.0 by volume.
• You can use a slow-speed electric mixer for large quantities or gradually mix the components by hand for smaller applications. The goal is to obtain a homogeneous, lump-free paste.
• Allow the mixed Weberdry 1K Flexshield to sit for 3-4 minutes to facilitate chemical curing. Do not skip this step, as it ensures optimal performance.
• If you need additional reinforcement, is compatible with products like webertape BE 14 for waterproofing corners between the floor and wall, weberdry fleece PE 60 for enhanced adhesion and durability, and webertape fibermesh 5 or webertape fibermesh 100 for extra adhesion in high-stress areas.

Waterproofing Application:

• Can be applied using trowel, brush, or rolling techniques, depending on the desired finish and the mixing ratio of water.
• Begin by using a trowel, appropriate brush, or roller to apply Weberdry 1K Flexshield on the surface. Ensure even coverage at an average consumption rate of about 0.75 – 1.00 kg/m² for the first layer.
• Make sure that the product covers the entire area and there are no gaps or uncoated sections.
• Allow the applied layer to sit for 2 – 3 hours to reach its initial set. The duration may vary depending on weather conditions, so consider this factor during application.
• Apply the second layer of Weberdry 1K Flexshield vertically to the first layer. The recommended consumption for the second layer is also 0.75 – 1 kg/m². This results in a total thickness of 1-2 mm. If the recommended thickness is not achieved after the second layer, consider rendering the mortar and then using a brush to ensure a suitable roughness and a surface free of air bubbles.
