MasterSeal HLM 5000 – Liquid cold-applied elastomeric waterproofing membrane system
DESCRIPTION
MasterSeal HLM 5000 is a one-component, moisture-curing, bitumen-modified polyurethane elastomeric waterproofing membrane used for exterior below-grade or between-slab applications. It is available in grades such as MasterSeal HLM 5000 SL (self-leveling/squeegee) and MasterSeal HLM 5000 R (roller).
PRODUCT HIGHLIGHTS
- Available in standard and high-build systems
- Waterproofing membrane preventing water penetration
- Elastomeric nature accommodates expansion and contraction
- Suitable for a wide service-temperature range
- Chemical resistance against bacterial attack, select acids, alkalis, and salts
- Seamless cold-applied membrane eliminates lapping, seaming, and precutting
- Does not require hot-melt equipment

COVERAGE / YIELD
Approx. 0.6-0.7m² / liter at 1.4-1.7mm wet thickness (1.1-1.4mm dry thickness). Actual coverage may vary based on application technique, substrate finish, and porosity.
TEST DATA
A series of test data including shore hardness, tensile strength, elongation, moisture vapor permeability, crack bridging test, extensibility after heat aging, adhesion in peel, weight loss, and viscosity.
APPLICATION GUIDELINES
Surface preparation involves ensuring a clean, sound surface and addressing voids or irregularities. Pre-striping joints, cracks, and openings before applying the membrane is essential. It’s recommended to test application and ensure a pinhole-free, continuous membrane for waterproofing integrity.
The application process involves selecting the appropriate grade, spreading the contents as per instructions, and ensuring the finish coat is applied uniformly.
