QUICSEAL 119 – Aquapoxy Epoxy Membrane for Negative Pressure Applications
Product Description:
QUICSEAL 119 is a two-component, water-based epoxy polyamide membrane/barrier coating designed for use in negative water pressure applications. It serves as a waterproof and vapor barrier in various applications, including preventing rising damp in floors, acting as a barrier/sealing coat over freshly laid or damp concrete, resisting negative hydrostatic pressure in below-grade surfaces, and serving as a waterproofing barrier in tanking applications, including potable water containment.
Advantages:
- Withstands 250kPa hydrostatic pressure (25 meters head of water).
- Can be applied to damp surfaces (in saturated surface dry condition).
- Can be applied to freshly laid hardened (green) concrete.
- Versatile in use, compatible with various finishing paints.
- Excellent adhesion to most substrates, including brick, masonry, concrete, stone, and timber.
- Environmentally friendly, safe to use in sensitive locations.
- Easy cleanup using water, non-flammable, and negligible odor.
- Prevents rising damp and the formation of efflorescence.
Application Instructions:
Surface Preparation:
- All surfaces must be structurally sound.
- Remove existing coatings, adhesives, efflorescence, etc.
- Surfaces should be cleaned from dirt, grease, oil, and other contaminants.
- Concrete floors should be sandblasted to remove surface laitance.
- Fill holes or cracks with QUICSEAL 119 epoxy mortar.
- Prime with 10% diluted QUICSEAL 119 or use a slurry bonding coat.
Priming:
- If applied to dry concrete, dampen the surface with water before priming with diluted QUICSEAL 119.
- Achieve a dry film thickness (D.F.T.) of 300 microns for optimum performance.
Mixing & Installation:
- Stir Components A & B individually, then mix together in a 1:1 ratio.
- Apply QUICSEAL 119 onto the prepared surface at a spread rate of 0.3 liters per m2 per coat.
- Embed QUICSEAL Fabric into wet coating using a steel roller.
- Allow 4–5 hours before applying the second coat.
Coverage and Thickness:
- Apply at a rate of 0.66 ltr/m2 in 2 coats to achieve a minimum DFT of 300 microns.
