QUICSEAL 133 – Aquaprime
Product Description:
QUICSEAL 133 Aquaprime is a two-component water-based epoxy primer designed for polyurethane coatings. It cures by the reaction (cross-linking) of its two components.
Uses:
QUICSEAL 133 is primarily used as a primer for various surfaces, including:
- Steel
- Asphalt
- Wood
- Concrete
It can also be used as a primer on moist concrete surfaces.
Advantages:
- Simple application using a roller or brush.
- Can be applied on moist surfaces without a loss of adhesion.
Surface Preparation:
Careful surface preparation is crucial for an optimal finish and durability. The surface must be clean, dry, and sound, free from any contamination that could affect primer adhesion. Remove old coatings, dirt, fats, oils, organic substances, and dust using a grinding machine. Smoothen any surface irregularities, and thoroughly remove loose pieces and grinding dust.
Mixing: Stir QUICSEAL 133 Part A well before use. Add QUICSEAL 133 Part B at the specified mixing ratio. Mix both components thoroughly using a low-speed mechanical stirrer for about 3-5 minutes. Thoroughly mix the components, especially on the walls and bottom of the pail, until the mixture becomes fully homogeneous. No dilution of the mix is required.
Priming: For best results, apply QUICSEAL 133 between temperatures of 5°C and 35°C. Low temperatures slow down cure time, while high temperatures speed it up. High humidity may affect the final finish.
- Apply QUICSEAL 133 by roller or brush until the surface is covered.
- After approximately 6-12 hours (not later than 24 hours), while the primer is still slightly tacky, apply the polyurethane coating or polyurethane joint-sealant.
Recommendation: If the surface is very porous, like lightweight concrete or cement screed, apply two layers of QUICSEAL 133.
Precautions: QUICSEAL 133 contains amines. Refer to the information supplied by the manufacturer and study the Material Safety Data Sheet.
Consumption: Minimum total consumption: 100 – 200 g/m2 in one or two layers. Consumption may vary based on factors like temperature, humidity, application method, and required finish.
Packaging: 4 kg set
